McDonald’s Sundial [UPDATE]
Disgusting company.
Brilliant idea.

I’m going to try to find out a little bit more about it. Who did it, where it ran, etc.
Update
I found this on AdRants:
“Just when we thought there were no new ideas, Leo Burnett, with the help of an engineer, designed a billboard in Chicago for McDonald’s which acts as a sun dial to create a shadow of the McDonald’s arches over a different breakfast food for each hour of the morning. Of course, someone will now leave a comment saying this has been done somewhere else before unfairly labeling Leo Burnett a copy cat.”
As a side note, Leo Burnett has a great website.
And now to balance out the positive energy towards McDonalds I also found this image while searching for information on the sundial.

I think Taco Bell takes the grand prize for most disgusting ad campaign with the new “Fourth Meal” adverts.
Jesus. The “meal you eat between dinner and breakfast.” ??
They even taken the food pyramid and changed it into the food square!! (ie: Melty, Crunchy, Spicy, Grilled)
What’s next? Free Heart attacks with every kids Happy Meal?

Look, I am as not-fond of Mac-dough-nolds! as the next guy, but that is brilliant!
Why don’t we make a 47th billboard and go underground?

wait, that didn’t entirely make sense… It hink I was trying to say something about 47th, viral campaign, but no one knows about it so it is still underground… right!
speaking of which, I got the coolest letterpress letters at this antique shop in lake placid (lots of odd 4s and 7s)… I was just cleaning up the workspace and thinking of what we should do with them!

I love that Leo Burnett site — my only wish is that it allowed for some more playful selection capabilities… i.e. you have this pencil tracing you path — I kind of wish that when you made a loop around an object, it would select it in true “don’t click it” style.
