No you don’t cut the seed. You slice it to the side of the seed on both sides. So you will be left with three sections. 2 sides and a middle. The middle will be the whole seed.

brilliant!
so, step 1 is slicing it in half! there is a tough middle, so all I do is use a little elbow grease and it is good to go, yes?
maybe what I needed was a sharper knife… I did manage to scrape plenty out to make a yogurt/mango/lemon smoothie concoction that was quite wonderful.
