pretty table II : Juliette

continuing on the review of restaurant interiors and graphics, our recent trip to new york produced some nice food for thought. paling around in brooklyn, we happened upon a great bar HUGS, had no problem finding a place for a late night confection (called Parlour? their treats were infused with greek flavors, even, as with an iced cream sundae with halvah), and spent a lovely hour at an open and airy restaurant, Juliette.

I am a big fan of the graphics in the restaurant — the entryway features the logo loud and clear (paired with subway overhead grips, vintage light fixtures, and a nice glimpse of natural light from the staircase leading to the rooftop terrace).

Even the powder room continues in this theme.

Maybe I just love the E.

As for the food, they serve a croque monsieur just the way I like it: more crispy than soggy. They were a little unhelpful in terms of desiring an accompanying side salad of just greens (particularly as the very item so desired arrived paired with a special sandwich), which always gives my heart an unpleasant tremor. However, the experience as a whole was a pleasant one, and highly recommended for a Sunday brunch outing.
